We came here whilst visiting different parts of the island by beach buggy. We parked easily and walked into the traditional village. I’m so happy we came here as it was really beautiful. We saw the bell tower, blue domes, bikes you can hire, even an underground area open to the public. We didn’t stop to eat as we had already eaten but there were a few restaurants which were easily accessible.If you like ice cream, stop at Mr Scoop, this ice cream shop is amazing!

Really charming town that is quiet and hustle free. Megalochori maintains that traditional village feel done in a splendid way. There are beautiful blue dome churches scattered about and plenty of winding staircases that will test your knees. A must go to destination if you are in Santorini.

Non parlo tanto del Piccolo Borgo ma della vista che si può vedere del Golfo dell'isola a in un piccolo spiazzo in direzione mare, è stata la prima cosa che abbiamo visto di Santorini e sicuramente ci è rimasta impressa

Βρίσκεται κοντά στα Φηρα υπάρχουν 2 λεωφορεία που σταματανε σε αυτό το χωριό με τα πανέμορφα σοκάκια. Κάντε βόλτες φωτογραφίστε την κάθε γωνία. Σε 1 ώρα θα το έχετε δει όλο.

Megalochori zwiedzaliśmy w związku z faktem, że zatrzymaliśmy się w tutejszym hotelu Vedema. Wioska jest ładna i zadbana, można dobrze zjeść w tutejszych restauracjach i jest gdzie pospacerować. Polecam zatrzymać się przy okazji zwiedzania Santorini.

Beautiful, clean and quiet village we visited during a day tour. Historical houses and traditional artisanal shops. May was a perfect time to visit the island. Gets cool at times so you will need a light jacket and sunscreen. We loved to see the pistachio trees growing wild by the roads Would have liked more time in the village to try some of the restaurants.

As part of our island tour we walked through this village with the tour guide.He gave a very interesting and light hearted view of life in this traditional and very old village.As a self walk through without a guide still lots to discover and a couple of tavernas in the centre near the churches.Worth a visit. Park on the outskirts and walk. Driving would be a challenge.

We visited this village during our stay in Santorini in early august. While it lacks the sea views of Oia, it is much less crowded and very picturesque and calm. This is my idea of a beautiful white Greek village. There are nice places to have lunch and many spots for taking pictures. Do not miss Gavalas winery, just a few steps from the main square. This village is perfect for spending half a day and can be reached by bus (20 - 30 mins. from Fira's bus station). I highly recommend a visit here.
