There are 4 things that are a "must" when visiting Crete:1) Knossos and the Heraklion Archeological Museum2) Chania3) Agios Nikolaous4) the Bakaliko Restaurant in ArchanesIf you love wine, reverse the order.The wine selection is exceptional. The food is wonderful. And, Georgios (the owner) is a delight. The wine tasting he prepared for us (4 whites / 4 reds) was a oenophile's dream.

Πολύ καλό φαγητό με Κρητικές αλλά και γκουρμέ επιρροές ! Εξαιρετικές ετικέτες κρασιών απο την Κρήτη αλλά και όλη την Ελλάδα ! Πάνω απο όλα ξεχωριστή φιλοξενία και εξυπηρέτηση ! Το μόνο που μας έλλειψε , μια μικρή μουσική υπόκρουση κρητικής μουσικής !

This is a contemporary deli plus cafe/restaurant. The food is sublime. We chose one of the specials of the day: veal meatballs in a tomato sauce that made the mouth water, and a lamb pitta wrap with lamb that melted in the mouth. A charming host who explained olive oil brilliantly and you get to taste his collection. The unsung hero was his wife in the kitchen who is welcome to move to the UK and cook for us.All just perfect.

Randomly stepped in and found a cozy place that serves local food with some contemporary touch. Deals of the day were offered. They also have big variety of wines, teas, olive oil etc that you can buy.
