A family run taverna with great food (which they produce themselves on their smallholding. The best tables are right on the sea, nothing is to much trouble for the staff (in fact they made a special dish for us "Loukamades" a sweet. It is on our must eat list in Kalyves

We have visited Kalyves 3 times now over a 20 year period. Mythos stands strong amidst the varied offers. The portions of vegetables are HUGE. Once you acclimatise to that you will order more sensibly and love it. The meat and fish are terrific.

We have had many lovely meals at Mythos over the years but this year we took friends there to celebrate a birthday. Manolis was kind enough to even put flowers on the table which we the birthday girl was able to take home at the end of the evening. The meat dishes are always delicious at Mythos and amazing value. A great family run business!

Servicen på denne plassen er topp. Maten var meget god begge gangene vi besøkte stedet i mars i år. Ser frem til å komme tilbake til sommeren. Må oppleves.

We always have a couple of meals at the Mythos whilst in Kalyves and have always found the food of excellent standard and plenty of it. We would especially like to mention the waiter Stelios who is very friendly and efficient. Also the local wine and olive oil served at the Mythos are very good indeed.

We went here for the first night of our holiday, what a great find! Beautiful seafront seating, amazing fresh food and very friendly and attentive staff

Quite the most wonderful large grilled pork fillet I have ever been served. We shared a portion of fried zucchini to start and the portion was more than enough for us both. Generous hosts, relaxed atmosphere and though not yet warm enough to sit in the outside 'shack' right on top of the sea I can imagine it would be magical. Traditional welcoming taverna. Our friends have been coming to Crete for 40 years and they often eat here before getting on the plane home. I can understand why.
